ETDA Edetic Acid is the acid form of edetate, a chelating agent with anti-hypercalcemic and anticoagulant properties. Edetic acid binds calcium and heavy metal ions, forming soluble stable complexes which are readily excreted by the kidneys. This results in a decrease in serum calcium levels. This agent is also used as an anticoagulant for blood specimens and is applied as a treatment of lead poisoning.

Edetic acid is a Lead Chelator and Anti-coagulant. The mechanism of action of edetic acid is as a Lead Chelating Activity and Calcium Chelating Activity. The physiologic effect of edetic acid is by means of Decreased Coagulation Factor Activity.

Ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid is a colorless crystalline solid. It is slightly soluble in water. The primary hazard is the threat to the environment. Immediate steps should be taken to limit its spread to the environment. It is used in chemical analysis, to make detergents and cleaning compounds, and for many other uses.

Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is mainly used to bind metal ions in aqueous solution making EDTA useful in a wide variety of uses as a chelating agent. It is widely used to dissolve limescale. In shampoos, cleaners, and other personal care products EDTA salts are used as stabilizers. EDTA is added to some food as a preservative or stabilizer to prevent catalytic oxidative decoloration, which is catalyzed by metal ions. In the pulp and paper industry, EDTA inhibits the ability of metal ions, especially Mn2+, from catalyzing the disproportionation of hydrogen peroxide, which is used in "chlorine-free bleaching."

Citric Acid Anhydrate is an organic compound found among carboxylic acids. It is also known colloquially as lemon salt. Citric acid is found in the body fluids of many animals and in the content of many plants, especially citrus fruits. For example, lemon contains citric acid in its structure and this is the substance that gives these fruits their tartness. The pH value of citric acid is 3.5.

Citric acid is actively used in many fields of activity of the industry in order to meet the needs of the increasingly crowded world population. Citric acid has been used as an additive in our foods for several centuries and has a very important place in today's food industry.

How is citric acid produced?

Citric acid was first obtained by the Swedish scientist Carl Wilhelm in 1784 by crystallization of lemon juice, and it became used in many industries in a short time. Although citric acid is naturally abundant in citrus fruits and fruits, producing citric acid from these fruits is costly and difficult. Therefore, today, citric acid is produced from sugar by utilizing various yeasts and bacteria. Citric acid produced from sugar can be found suitable for use in many production and industrial areas.

What are citric acid reactions?

It is oxidized in substances such as citric acid permanganate, persulfate, periodate, manganese dioxide, nitric acid, hypochlorite, chromate.

Citric acid chelates/chelates with multivalent metal ions and gives different complexes. Therefore, citrate and citric acid are used to control metal contamination. While metal ions are normally colored, they become colorless or slightly colored when citrate is present. At different pH values, metal hydroxides may precipitate and the citrate complex may dissolve. In the case of metal ions, organic molecules can decompose catalytically, while citric acid can stabilize metal ions by forming a clamp. Chelate is an equilibrium reaction. Chelate ions and metal ions can always be found free together.

What are Caustic Soda Pearls?

Caustic soda pearls (also known as sodium hydroxide, caustic soda, NaOH, sodium hydrate, or Sodagrain) are white spheres of caustic soda with a barely perceptible odour. They are soluble in water, with the liberation of heat, and are stable under normal conditions.

Caustic soda is a strong base and, as such, has many applications in industries all over the world, both now and in the past. It is one of the oldest manmade chemicals with excavations in Egypt showing samples of it dating from 3000 B.C.
How are Caustic Soda Pearls produced?

Caustic soda is produced all around the globe with world production standing at approximately 59 million tonnes per annum (in 2008). Virtually all producers use the chloralkali process which involves the electrolysis of sodium chloride using one of three cell types: mercury, diaphragm, or membrane. If this process is used, 1.1 tonnes of caustic soda can be produced to each tonne of chlorine.
How are Caustic Soda Pearls stored and distributed?

Caustic soda pearls are stored and transported in 25 kg woven bags with a PE liner. For transportation purposes they are classed as packing group II, hazard class 8 and they are corrosive and can cause burns. They have a specific gravity of 2.13.
What are Caustic Soda Pearls used for?

Caustic soda pearls are an important inorganic chemical as they are used in numerous industries worldwide. The highest demand for caustic soda comes from the paper industry where it is utilised in pulping and bleaching processes. They are also in demand in the aluminium industry as the caustic soda dissolves bauxite ore, which is the raw material in aluminium production. Another major use for caustic soda is chemical processing as caustic soda is a basic feedstock for a range of down-stream products including solvents, plastics, fabrics, adhesives etc.

Caustic soda pearls are also used in soap production as they engender saponification of the vegetable oils or fats that are necessary for soap manufacture. They have a role in the natural gas industry where sodium hydroxide is used to help produce and process petroleum products and they can be employed in the textile industry where it is used in the chemical processing of cotton.

Caustic soda also has small scale applications. It can be used for aluminium etching, chemical analysis and in paint stripper. It is a component in a range of domestic products including pipe and drain cleaner, oven cleaner and in home-cleaning products.

Boric Acid and its sodium borate salts are pesticides that we can find in nature and many products. Borax is one of the most common products. Boric acid and its sodium salts each combine boron with other elements in a different way. In general, their toxicities each depend on the amount of boron they contain.

Boric acid and its sodium salts can be used to control a wide variety of pests. These include insects, spiders, mites, algae, molds, fungi, and weeds. Products that contain boric acid have been registered for use in the United States since 1948.
What are some products that contain boric acid?

Products containing boric acid can be liquids, granules, pellets, tablets, wettable powders, dusts, rods, or baits. They are used indoors in places like homes, hospitals and commercial buildings. They are also used in outdoor residential areas, sewage systems, and on food and non-food crops. There are over five hundred products with boric acid sold in the United States. Several non-pesticide products containing boric acid include soil amendments, fertilizers, household cleaners, laundry detergents, and personal care products.

Always follow label instructions and take steps to minimize exposure. If any exposures occur, be sure to follow the First Aid instructions on the product label carefully. For additional treatment advice, contact the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. If you wish to discuss a pesticide problem, please call 1-800-858-7378.
How does boric acid work?

Boric acid can kill insects if they eat it. It disrupts their stomach and can affect their nervous system. It can also scratch and damage the exterior of insects. Boric acid and borax, a sodium borate salt, can kill plants by causing them to dry out. Sodium metaborate, another sodium borate salt, stops plants from producing the energy they need from light. Boric acid can also stop the growth of fungi, such as mold. It prevents them from reproducing.

General description
NH4Cl is highly corrosive, colorless salt which dissolves readily in water. It crystallizes out of aqueous solution in octahedrons, in a feathery array, forming a fibrous mass of crystals. It sublimes at 340oC. Ammonium chloride acts as catalyst in one-pot,Biginelli condensation reactions of aldehydes, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and urea or thiourea. Inorganic ammonium ions, NH4+, have been reported as efficient catalysts for the aldol condensation of carbonyl compounds.NH4Cl has been reportedly used to enhance the hydrolysis rate and decrease the activation energy of magnesium hydride during hydrogen generation.
